Parkour
Parkour;
Although parkour sport is known as one of the newest and most entertaining activities of recent times, it is not new as it is known, it is actually based on very old times.
It is a sport that first emerged in France and is accepted as a philosophy of life. This sports branch finds its place among extreme sports. It demonstrates what flexibility and the human body can do in different track areas. The main goal of the parkour shows how to survive in nature and how to synchronise flexibility and speed. Today, this activity is carried out with the tracks created between cities.
How did the track come into existence?
It is known that it first appeared in France in 1902. George Hebert, a physical education teacher, was impressed by observing people's mobility during his journey to the Caribbean by ship. When he returned to his country, he combined what he saw and created The Natural Method, and passed it on to his son, teaching him how to keep endurance and flexibility together for use in military training.
How to Do Parkour?
The body should be brought to the desired level by training on the handrails of the course. It provides the ability to move in a balanced manner by climbing and jumping with speed and synchronized flexibility over and under various obstacles in cities. While women are called traceuse, men are called traceur. It is important that he/she has the ability to perceive and observe the area and its environment well. Since it requires conditioning, flexibility and endurance, it should not be done without warming up. It is recommended that amateur parkourers do not do this in high or potentially dangerous large parkour areas before they reach a certain level.
What are the Track Materials?
The indispensable and most important material of the track is undoubtedly the choice of shoes. Shoes must be absolutely comfortable, compatible with the ground and the track, and must not be slippery. In order to make the movements easy and comfortable, materials used in other sports such as elbow pads and helmets are not used. The important thing is to choose clothes that provide comfortable mobility. Parkour Sport is an activity that can be done in all seasons.
